WHAT IS MERCY’S THREADS?

When the 2010 earthquake hit Haiti, many families lost their homes, their source of income, and loved ones. In 2014, Mercy’s Threads was introduced to assist two villages, one in Gressier, the other in Deye Mon, located in the southern peninsula of Haiti. The hand-embroidered works of art, created by the residents of Merci de Dieu and Deye Mon, offer them a chance to begin their own self-sustaining small businesses.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

SHOP. Funds received from sales give these artisans a chance to provide for their children’s meals, schooling, and medical care. They can also purchase chickens, goats, cows, and pigs to supplement their income.

DONATE. To sponsor one woman or man to attend a three-day Embroidery Workshop, a donation of $25 covers the cost of their supplies, plus meals. Any contribution, of any amount, is greatly appreciated and 100% will be used towards workshop expenses.
